On World Environment Day, which coincided with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s birthday, MLC Awanish Kumar Singh (Lucknow Graduate Constituency) joined teachers and Shiksha Mitras in Lucknow to plant trees. The drive was part of a broader statewide effort by educators across Uttar Pradesh to thank the Chief Minister while showing their commitment to protecting the environment.

The initiative focused on the need to conserve natural resources and build a greener, cleaner state. Participants emphasized that planting trees shouldn’t just be a one-day event, but a ongoing effort to ensure a healthier future for everyone.

Speaking at the event, Awanish Kumar Singh highlighted that protecting nature is a shared duty. “The environment is the very foundation of our existence—clean air, pure water, and greenery are essential for our survival,” he noted. “Today, pollution and deforestation pose serious threats, and protecting nature isn’t just up to the government. It is up to every single one of us. If we each plant a tree, save water, cut down on plastic, and keep our surroundings clean, we can leave a better world behind for future generations.”

Organizers also encouraged citizens to not only plant saplings but to regularly care for and nurture them as they grow.
